Live At Yankee Stadium (Vol. 1 & Vol. 2) captures Fania All Stars during the extraordinary period when the collective stood at the centre of New York’s exploding salsa movement and helped bring Latin music to an international audience.
Fania All Stars were far more than a conventional band. Built around leading musicians and singers from the legendary Fania Records roster, the collective brought together some of the most important figures in salsa and Afro-Caribbean music, creating performances driven by percussion, brass, improvisation and remarkable vocal personalities.
This collection features an exceptional cast. Celia Cruz takes the spotlight on “Diosa Del Ritmo” and “Bemba Colora,” while Héctor Lavoe appears on the classic “Mi Gente” and alongside Cheo Feliciano on “Congo Bongo.” Elsewhere the recordings feature artists including Johnny Pacheco, Ray Barretto, Mongo Santamaría, Manu Dibango, Yomo Toro, Larry Harlow, Ismael Miranda, Cheo Feliciano and many others.
Across two LPs, the music moves through salsa, guaguancó and rumba, capturing the scale, spontaneity and rhythmic intensity that made Fania All Stars such a formidable live attraction.

This 2019 edition is a Vinyl Me, Please Exclusive Pressing, released in conjunction with Craft Recordings, Craft Recordings Latino and Fania Records.
Most importantly for serious vinyl listeners, the records were cut entirely analog from the original tapes by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio. No digital stage is identified in the mastering chain for this edition.
The album is presented across two red vinyl LPs and was pressed by Memphis Record Pressing.
Only 1,000 individually numbered copies were produced, with foil-stamped numbering.
This particular copy is No. 0752 of 1,000.
The combination of an all-analog Kevin Gray cut, original tape source, extremely small numbered pressing and VMP exclusivity makes this a particularly desirable edition of an important Fania recording.
Both the vinyl and sleeve are graded Near Mint, making this a very well-preserved example of the limited edition.
