Doky Brothers 2 brings together Danish jazz musicians Niels Lan Doky and Chris Minh Doky for an ambitious and highly polished recording featuring an exceptional international cast of guest musicians.
Released in 1997 on Blue Note / EMI-Medley, the album blends contemporary jazz, fusion, soul and melodic vocal jazz.
 
The guest list is particularly impressive and includes Al Jarreau, Toots Thielemans, John Scofield, David Sanborn, Randy Brecker, Dianne Reeves, Bill Evans, Terri Lyne Carrington, Jeff “Tain” Watts, Trilok Gurtu and Alex Riel, alongside Danish singer Sanne Salomonsen.
 
The repertoire combines original compositions by the Doky brothers with distinctive interpretations of well-known material, including “Man In The Mirror” and Bob Marley’s “Waiting In Vain”. Despite the large number of contributors, the album maintains a strong sense of cohesion, with sophisticated arrangements, excellent musicianship and an accessible melodic character throughout.
