At Mr Hansen Records, all records are carefully inspected and graded according to the internationally recognised Goldmine grading standard used by collectors worldwide.

Both the vinyl and the sleeve are graded to provide an accurate and transparent description of the condition.

Grading Guide

Mint (M)
Absolutely perfect in every way. The record is unplayed and the sleeve is flawless with no signs of wear. Mint grading is typically only used for sealed items.

Near Mint (NM or M-)
A nearly perfect record. The vinyl shows no obvious signs of wear and will play beautifully with little to no surface noise. The sleeve is clean and well preserved with only minimal signs of handling.

Very Good Plus (VG+)
A well cared for record that has been played but remains in very good condition. The vinyl may show light surface marks that do not significantly affect playback. Minor sleeve wear such as light corner wear or small creases may be present.

Very Good (VG)
A record that has been played more frequently but is still fully playable. The vinyl will show noticeable signs of use and some background noise may occur. The sleeve may show ring wear, edge wear or small splits.

Good (G) / Good Plus (G+)
A record with significant wear that still plays through without skipping. Surface noise and visible marks will be present, and the sleeve will show clear signs of use.

Vinyl Me Please Editions

Some records available at Mr Hansen Records are official Vinyl Me Please pressings.

These editions are known for their high-quality mastering, carefully curated releases and limited production runs. Many titles are pressed on coloured vinyl and include unique artwork or additional inserts.

Vinyl Me Please releases have become highly collectible, especially once they go out of print, making them sought after by collectors worldwide.

Packaging & Shipping

All records are packed with collector-grade care using professional LP mailers.

The vinyl is removed from the sleeve before shipping to avoid seam splits and ensure safe delivery.

We grade the record and sleeve separately. For example, NM/VG+ means Near Mint media with a Very Good Plus sleeve. Always read the notes for the individual copy.

NM / M- (Near Mint): Almost like new. Vinyl has no obvious defects; the sleeve has no significant wear.

VG+ (Very Good Plus): Light signs of use. Vinyl may have minor surface marks that do not materially affect listening; the sleeve may have light edge or corner wear.

VG (Very Good): More visible wear. Vinyl may have audible surface noise, especially in quiet passages; sleeves may show creases, ring wear or seam splits.

M (Mint): Perfect condition. Sealed means unopened; it does not guarantee a perfect sleeve or allow the disc inside to be inspected.
