All Them Witches – Live on the Internet
Live on the Internet captures Nashville’s All Them Witches at their most powerful, exploratory and hypnotic. Recorded during the band’s only live performance of 2020, the set was created after the global pandemic brought their planned touring to a halt. Instead, the band assembled at SIR Studios in Nashville and broadcast an expansive studio performance directly to their audience.
Across sixteen tracks and approximately 86 minutes, All Them Witches move effortlessly between heavy psychedelic rock, blues, stoner rock and spacious improvisation. The performance highlights the remarkable chemistry between bassist and vocalist Charles Michael Parks Jr., guitarist Ben McLeod and drummer Robby Staebler. Massive riffs, deep rhythmic grooves and extended instrumental passages give the recording the intensity of a concert while retaining the detail and clarity of a carefully engineered studio session.
The set reaches across the band’s catalogue, opening with the monumental “Blood and Sand / Milk and Endless Waters” before moving through favourites including “Dirt Preachers,” “When God Comes Back,” “Alabaster,” “Diamond,” “3-5-7,” “The Marriage of Coyote Woman” and “Charles William.” Material from 2020’s Nothing as the Ideal is represented by “Saturnine & Iron Jaw,” “41,” “Rats in Ruin” and “Enemy of My Enemy,” while “Everest” provides a brief atmospheric pause before the heavy closing performance of “Bulls.”
The performance was engineered, mixed and mastered by longtime collaborator Mikey Allred, whose production preserves both the immense weight of the band’s low end and the open, psychedelic character of their live sound.
This highly collectible edition was issued by New West Records for Record Store Day Black Friday 2021. It is individually foil-stamped and numbered, with only 6,000 copies produced worldwide. The complete performance is spread across three randomly coloured vinyl records and housed in a specially designed wide-spine jacket with spot-gloss artwork.
This is copy number 1233 of 6000. Both the three-record set and its sleeve are in outstanding Mint condition, making this a particularly desirable example for collectors. The original Record Store Day hype sticker is also present.
