A clear, expressive voice at the heart of country, folk and deeply felt songs.

Pieces of the Sky (1975) was Emmylou Harris's Reprise breakthrough following her work with Gram Parsons. Her tribute “Boulder to Birmingham” sits alongside the Louvin Brothers' “If I Could Only Win Your Love” and Dolly Parton's “Coat of Many Colors”. The appeal lies in how naturally she makes each song her own, bringing tenderness and conviction to material from different writers.

A good fit for: listeners who love country storytelling, vocal harmonies and the meeting of folk and country-rock.

We grade the record and sleeve separately. For example, NM/VG+ means Near Mint media with a Very Good Plus sleeve. Always read the notes for the individual copy.

NM / M- (Near Mint): Almost like new. Vinyl has no obvious defects; the sleeve has no significant wear.

VG+ (Very Good Plus): Light signs of use. Vinyl may have minor surface marks that do not materially affect listening; the sleeve may have light edge or corner wear.

VG (Very Good): More visible wear. Vinyl may have audible surface noise, especially in quiet passages; sleeves may show creases, ring wear or seam splits.

M (Mint): Perfect condition. Sealed means unopened; it does not guarantee a perfect sleeve or allow the disc inside to be inspected.

This is a short vinyl grading guide based on the Goldmine standard. For CDs and other formats, follow the condition notes in the listing.
