The first side delivers pure Motown energy with highlights such as “I Got a Feeling,” “Shake Me, Wake Me (When It’s Over)” and the Stevie Wonder co-written “Loving You Is Sweeter Than Ever.” On the second side, the group adds its distinctive soul sound to standards including The Beatles’ “Michelle,” Cole Porter’s “In the Still of the Night” and Antônio Carlos Jobim’s “Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars.”
This original US mono edition offers the direct, powerful sound for which Motown’s classic 1960s recordings are celebrated. An excellent addition to any collection of vintage soul and Motown.
