George Michael – Older
Older, released in 1996, is one of George Michael’s most personal and carefully constructed albums. Its sophisticated production draws together pop, soul and electronic textures in spacious arrangements that give the vocals and songwriting unusual emotional weight.
From the reflective “Jesus To A Child” to the poised pulse of “Fastlove” and “Spinning The Wheel”, the album has a coherent late-night atmosphere and rewards complete, uninterrupted listening. It represents a mature creative period in which subtle rhythm, restraint and expressive detail took precedence over straightforward chart-pop formulas.
This European CD edition was issued by Virgin / Aegean under catalogue numbers 7243 8 41392 2 3 and CDV2802. Both the disc and its packaging are graded Very Good Plus, with very little evidence of previous handling.
