Gladys Knight & The Pips – Touch
Touch captures Gladys Knight & The Pips at the beginning of the 1980s, balancing their established soul sound with the polished disco and contemporary R&B production of the period. Gladys Knight’s commanding lead vocal remains at the centre, supported by warm harmonies and smooth, carefully arranged studio production.
This is the 1981 European LP edition on CBS, catalogue number CBS 84908. It is an appealing original-period pressing for collectors of classic soul, sophisticated early-1980s R&B and the enduring work of one of Motown-era soul’s most distinctive vocal groups.
