Released for Record Store Day 2020, Make My Funk The P-Funk brings together a concentrated selection of George Clinton and the P-Funk All Stars at their most explosive. The album moves through the Parliament-Funkadelic universe with heavyweight grooves, elastic bass lines, cosmic humour and the adventurous musicianship that made P-Funk one of the most influential forces in funk.
The programme includes essential pieces such as “Flashlight”, “Standing On The Verge”, “Bop Gun”, “Aquaboogie” and Funkadelic’s monumental “Maggot Brain”. Several tracks are live performances, capturing the loose, communal energy of the P-Funk stage experience, while the complete sequence is drawn from material originally issued on the 1997 album Live... And Kickin’.
This UK edition was released by Trading Places under catalogue number TDP54025 and pressed by GZ Media. Its neon-violet vinyl makes it an especially attractive Record Store Day pressing for George Clinton, Parliament-Funkadelic and coloured-vinyl collectors.
The vinyl is graded Near Mint, with very little evidence of previous handling or play. The sleeve is also graded Near Mint and remains in excellent collector condition.
